What 😍 lovely interactik ,with ur audience 😊 of good gu zunheit❤ thx
Zaftig = meant as soft yet wonderful delicate in many ways❤😂😊 Pls. ?
I am Asian married to a Jewish man and listening to all these ladies and gentlemen talking takes me back to the days when I hung around my husband’s dad and mom’s family. They spoke American English pepper with lots of Yiddish. I didn’t understand at first till my mother in law gave me a book call The Joy of Yiddish. I poured over the book and learned so many wonderful words and I was able to follow their conversation easily after that. They have since passed and I really miss those times with them. They are so sarcastic but so hilarious. 💞💖💕❤️
Great video, and I am Jewish
I am German and I understand a lot of these words because sound and meaning are close to German. In fact I think that yiddish is based on German. Which shows that the Jews were widespread in Germany and they were and are part of our culture.
🇬🇧 😅😅😅😅
Stolen from German, just as they steal everything
Sheine
"Ooooh' Top-Marks" :)
Very cute!
Saftig means juicy in swedish.
I once worked for a Jewish family owned business. One little guy there taught me several Yiddish words-they just have a way of expressing the exact things you want to say by some type of emotional magic it seems. According to this shiksa anyway. Rest in peace Shlomo (Saul)
Next oldest joke in the world.
Sweet. ✡️♥️🥰
Darling
Pretty darned darling, thank you.
Oops
That was a good joke
🤣🤣🤣👍
Nudnik too!
Interesting, thank you! Pipek. shpilke is from Russian with the same meaning
Joke was so bad it was almost funny
is kid yiddish? kiddish means childlike...
I hope there will be many more of these ! I love Yiddish and we need to keep it alive.
בעל־הביתטע אָדער באָל־בוסטער?
Das ist doch fast wie deutsch .
Thas very similar to german words. Geshmak like Geschmack, Taste or having a taste. or Platz like platzen (blow up, detonate) Or Platz like place or site. Or Schwitzen sweating Thats really cool 😊👍
I am a participant in this place and I don't have a specific date to go there I only go there when I'm sick I don't even participate they don't let me participate they don't let me come in at least to participate it is a great place however they know that I have a bad eyesight I'm waiting to get my second however I've been here for 5 years over 5 years and I still don't have a certain date to go and participate

Loved this. Brings back memories of my beloved grandparents, and their relatives.
Absolutely divine! I love all their spirits, seeing so much energy in the elderly always inspires me. I married a Jewish man 12 years ago and ive been throwing out terms left and right lol hes proud of me and I feel honorarily Jewish 🥰🙏🏼

Always broken up, not pancake style Always savory, never sweet
Are you from Missouri?
I knew most of the words as my parents were from Germany and were religious jews. Some words were just pronounced differently. However the word kvell is not used in german. Henry kissinger's mother was being interviewed by someone and asked her if she kvells about her son ( she did not understand what he meant ). These people are so cute
Are all these people still alive. I love them. Any more recent videos from them.
I’m laughing so hard my Schmekle hurts
I'm from south east Germany and understood everything.
Baal-e-bust(e) is Aramaic "lord/lady of the house"; some dialects of Yiddish make the 's' into a 'sh' before a 't' (typical also of some German dialects of the Rhineland). Pupik is Western Yiddish, whereas pipik is Litvak Yiddish. [Epes] shpilkish / a shpilkes is something you can play around with, something to hold the fabric in place before you make the stitch or some way you have of coping. Vilde is from Rhineland Middle High German and Chaye is probably from Aramaic (cf. Hebrew chay "alive"). Shmegege is probably from shmeg "smell"; in Polish, to stink is śmierdzieć (on śmierdzi "he stinks"). Watch ua-cam.com/video/14_Id_jRFNk/v-deo.html I learned spoken Yiddish (from a university background in Standard German and some experience with Biblical Hebrew) before I began to learn my grandmother's Pennsylvania Dutch Dialect of German (which is experiencing a revival). Both lived in a shtetl. Watch ua-cam.com/video/Mqe9RlWRKbo/v-deo.html
